The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (¹û½´ÊÓƵ), a faculty of the University of Toronto, and the Université de l’Ontario français (UOF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize the relationship between the two institutions and their shared commitment to strengthening ties in the fields of education and research.

As we bid farewell to this year, I am filled with gratitude reflecting on my first year as Dean. Getting to know the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ community has been an incredible journey, and each day, I am amazed by the collective brilliance and passion that defines us.

¹û½´ÊÓƵ Dean Erica Walker discusses the support systems available to our community and emphasizes the significance of academic freedom, the right to freedom of expression, and compassion.

I know that many of us are deeply saddened and horrified by the recent violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the tragic loss of lives throughout the region. As Dean, I know that events in Israel and Gaza have intensified distress among our community — many of whom are worried about loved ones, friends, and colleagues and who have direct and indirect ties to the region. The safety and well-being of all at ¹û½´ÊÓƵ is my foremost concern.

¹û½´ÊÓƵ is deeply grieving the passing of Dr. Charles Pascal, a treasured friend, colleague and mentor, on April 24, 2023.
