Working with Video Data: Interaction Analysis Workshop
In this workshop Drs. Maisie L. Gholson and Jasmine Y. Ma will lead the group to look at video data together to consider the foundations of Interaction Analysis (IA) in the learning sciences, including the histories, commitments, possibilities, and constraints of the method. We then move into an approach that we call a Radical Relational Approach, in which we bring together IA, Racial Semiotics, and relational ontologies. This approach extends conventional IA to make the study of learning and social interactions answerable to the lived experiences of Black and other racialized children. Workshop participants should expect to participate in group video analysis and other activities in this 3-hour session.
